Trinity is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), the second largest Lutheran church body in North America. The word “synod” means “walking together,” and as a member of the LCMS, Trinity walks together in ministry partnership with more than 6,000 congregations across the United States and over twenty-five Lutheran church bodies around the world. Organized in 1847 in Perry County, Missouri, by 12 pastors representing 15 congregations, today’s LCMS remains committed to “vigorously make known the love of Christ by word and deed within our churches, communities, and the world” (LCMS Mission Statement).

As a member of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Trinity believes, teaches and affirms that people are brought into an eternal relationship with God by grace alone, through faith alone, and this truth is based upon Scripture alone.

Grace Alone
God loves the people of the world, even though we are sinful and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Faith Alone
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Scripture Alone
The Bible is God’s true and trustworthy Word. It alone is the standard and guide for Christian doctrine and practice.
