Proclaiming and demonstrating the love of God through Jesus Christ!
Adult Education Programs
Trinity has Sunday School classes for every age and multiple Bible study opportunities for adults both on Sundays and during the week. Classes differ in topic and range from lecture-based to group discussion, while all encouraging us to explore God's Word and how it applies to our everyday life.
The following classes are held Sunday mornings at 9:45 am:
“Looking at the Lessons”
Since ancient days, God’s redeemed people have gathered to hear the Scriptures read aloud, to heed His commands and receive His promises. In the early church, readings from the Bible were a part of weekly worship. Through the years and continuing today, the church has been planted, nourished, and sustained by reading, learning and studying the Word. “Looking at the Lessons” will allow participants to look closely at the lessons that are read each week in worship. The readings guide the hearers through our Lord’s life and ministry from the Incarnation to the Second Coming. The class will have the opportunity to delve deeply into the richness of each Sunday’s scriptures.
Leader: Rev. Al Bruning
Location: Room 111
“Caring for Inactive Members”All Board of Elder members and anyone who wishes to participate, will be working together on this topic, led by Russ Boraas in Room 110 at 9:45 am. He will be using course materials prepared by Kenneth C. Haugk. Haugk, a Lutheran pastor and clinical psychologist, founded Stephen Ministries® in 1974 (www.stephenministries.org). He is the author of a number of books, including Christian Care Giving – A Way of Life. In addition to course materials, they will be using Haugk’s book, Reopening the Back Door. Come and learn why people become inactive and how to minister to them. Besides an educational program about ministering to inactive members, what can we do in the meantime to decrease the chance of member inactivity? Participants are encouraged to buy online the companion book, Reopening the Back Door.

“The Serving Christian”Come learn what it means to be a Christian in action. What is the Christian vocation? How can I live a Christian life in a secular workplace? Is my job, which is not directly affiliated with the church, God-pleasing? How can I balance my calling as a Christian with my calling as a citizen of this community? Come find out answers to these life questions. This class is to prepare us for our special Lenten series called “Love’s Humble Service.”
