Trinity is participating in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod's Ablaze! initiative to reach out to our community and world with the Gospel. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the LCMS and its worldwide partners intend to share the Gospel with 100 million unreached or uncommitted people, including 50 million in the United States, by the year 2017. Another Ablaze! goal is to plant 5,000 congregations worldwide, 2,000 of them in the United States. An additional LCMS World Mission goal is to help revitalize 2,000 congregations in the United States.

 

  
 
 

Evangelism Business Cards Available

 

An easy way to tell someone about Jesus and our church family is to give them one of our evangelism business cards. Small enough to keep in your purse or wallet, these cards share Trinity’s address, phone number, website and service times. Take as many as you want, and use them often! These cards are available at the Welcome Center.

 

 

 
 
 

District Outreach Conference Coming this Summer:  “Out Fishin’!”

 

Cast your nets and join us July 31 – August 2, 2009, at the Holiday Inn Koger Center here in Richmond as members of Southeastern District (SED) congregations gather for an incredible fishing experience. During this year’s conference, Rev. Art Scherer, former SED President, and Rev. Tom Zehnder, the new Director for LCMS World Mission, will help us explore the fishing principles of some of Scripture’s finest outreach events. They will instruct us in the fine art of ‘casting’ so that others will hear the words of the Gospel. Another presenter this year is Phil Bickel, who brings together people who share a common interest so that they may develop the relationships that bring them into the presence of God. His time with us will paint a picture of a Church full of networking events.

In addition, this conference will offer more than 20 workshops in the areas of congregational, neighborhood, and personal evangelism. There will be sessions in cross-cultural, servant, and school evangelism as well. The workshops are designed to resource and equip teachers, lay leaders, youth, usher and greeter teams, evangelism teams, Sunday school workers, and the family.

A very special event this year is a Saturday evening concert by well know Christian musician Ken Medema. You will find yourself amazed by his story of faith and the gift of music that he shares with us. An event for the entire family!

This conference is for each and every member of Trinity as we continue our congregational focus on the Ablaze! initiative, helping each of us for the work of outreach. The cost of the conference is $50 (before July 10), so speak to Pastor Michael today if you’re interested.

University of Richmond Outreach

During the school year, we welcome students from the University of Richmond and other area universities to join us for weekly worship and other discipleship and fellowship activities. If you are a student that needs a ride to worship or other events, contact Pastor Michael.
